CORE

At ZAIGA BRUTANE STUDIO, regeneration is not a slogan but a practice — a way of working, thinking, and living with materials.

Circularity, for us, means engaging with what already exists: reclaiming, reworking, and regenerating garments at the end of their first life. This approach defines our modus operandi — reducing waste by reintegrating discarded textiles into an ongoing, transparent cycle of creation that values adaptability over excess.

Upcycled and recycled materials sit at the core of our design process. Vintage cotton t-shirts are deconstructed, reassembled, and transformed into new forms, allowing each piece to retain traces of its past while moving forward with renewed purpose. Every garment is locally crafted in Latvia, embracing imperfection, individuality, and longevity as design values.

Our Studio views fashion as a living system — one where responsibility, creativity, and sustainability coexist, and where regeneration becomes a continuous dialogue between material, maker, and wearer.

Zaiga Brutane Studio is an independent fashion label exploring upcycling, regeneration, and circular design through locally made garments.

Her work combines academic inquiry with hands-on making, transforming reclaimed textiles into contemporary fashion while questioning linear production systems. Through this research-led practice,

Zaiga Brutane Studio positions fashion as both a creative discipline and a critical framework — grounded in locality, responsibility, and material intelligence.
